Technical Sales Engineer

Teko Tinting & Engineering Sdn Bhd is looking to hire a Technical Sales Engineer, to be the key point of contact for clients, to provide technical advice and field support, to help sales managers to grow our market share. Occasionally she/he should provide local sales support.

The responsibilities of the selected professional include:

• Research, diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve product issues at customers’ site, coordinating duties with the centralised technical support team located abroad.
• Provide pre-sales and post-sales support.
• Occasionally, in collaboration with the area manager, organise technical sales visits to give demonstrations, training, and presentations for clients to discover and understand products.
• Define, propose, and negotiate maintenance agreements.
• Prepare technical and service reports with the CRM in use.
• Support other members of the local sales team.
• Occasionally attend trade exhibitions and sales meetings.
• Enhance the appeal of our products, becoming the key point of contact for clients in the assigned market.

The desired candidate should have the following skills:

• Be open minded, customer oriented and able to work in team – these soft skills are essential.
• Be able and willing to travel extensively (at least 60-70% of the time).
• Possess a technical degree, preferably in engineering (mechatronic, hydraulic, chemical) or comparable experience, with proven deep technical knowledge of machines and engineering systems, with special attention to hydraulics.
• Be able and willing to work in “unpleasant” environments, such as production facilities where dangerous goods might be present.
• Be proficient with MS Office and with office use of computers.
• Speak fluent English, Bahasa Malaysia and Mandarin (preferably). Other languages are a plus.
• Posses some sales attitude and be proactive towards customers and colleagues.
• Demonstrate at least 1-2 years of experience in a similar working position.
• Having some knowledge of chemistry is a plus.
